Who Says No One Cares About the NIT?

The NIT is an incredibly maligned tournament. Sure, it no longer has the prestige or pomp of the NCAA and it’s Final Four rigors, but it does have some compelling matchups and teams from power conferences, which all but ensures that none of the games will be atrocious. Add to that semifinals and a championship game played at Madison Square Garden and, well, you’ve got yourself a compelling tourney. This year’s event was no exception, and if there was ever any doubt that the players really are invested in what happens there, Penn State senior Danny Morrissey dispelled with that, diving headfirst for a loose ball and destroying his face as a result. Brace yourself, the slowmo is a pretty brutal watch.
